Boar meat apparently was a popular tablefare of our early ancestors.
Archaeologist excavated a campsite near Nice, France. At the Terra Amata site they found charred remains of animal bones in the debris of fireplaces. Among the charred bones were those of wild boar, which date from about 380,000 B.P. Cut marks on the bones would show that our ancestors ate boar meat.
