CDFW, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, is conducting the annual Joice Island Wild Pig Hunts in March and April of 2018. Apply now for one of the necessary limited-entry permits.

These popular boar hunts will take place in March and April of the year at the Grizzly Island Wildlife Area in Solano County. The Joice Island wild pig hunts are intended to control a small population of feral pigs that call the Joice Island Unit of the larger Grizzly Island Area their home. The Joice Island hunts take place on  2,150 acres of wetland that is overgrown with thick cattails, tules, brush interspersed with standing water.

A total of 24 hunters, three for each of the eight consecutive weekends, get exclusive access to the wildlife area for the wild pig hunts.
