Annually, CDFW offers a limited number of wild pig and deer hunting permits. Deer hunting permits are for the opening weekend. Pig hunting is concurrent with the deer hunting season. Apply now.
CDFW will make 30 limited special pig and deer hunting permits available per day. These hunts are for the Upper and Lower Cottonwood Creek and the San Luis Reservoir wildlife areas. The Cottonwood Wildlife area comprises about 6,300 acres of oak-grassland on steep to hilly terrain. It is home to feral pigs and black-tailed deer, gray foxes, and a hundred bird species.
Interested in any of the pig and deer hunts? Apply now online at www.wildlife.ca.gov/lands/places-to-visit/cottonwood-creek-wa. Hunters can also call CDFW Los Banos office at (209) 826-0463 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. And, just in case you prefer snail mail, submit your application to the CDFW office at 18110 W. Henry Miller Avenue, Los Banos, CA 93635.
Are you too impatient to wait for snail mail? Then simply apply by email to Sean.Allen@wildlife.ca.gov
However, CDFW accepts only official application forms. They also must receive your application before 4:30 p.m. on July 5. A public computerized drawing on 11 a.m. on July 6, 2017, will select the lucky winners of pig hunting on Upper and Lower Cottonwood Wildlife and the San Luis Reservoir.
A total of up three hunters may apply as one party. To do so, all required information on the 2017 Zone A application form must be completed and submitted. Junior license holders may apply as long as they are accompanied by an adult hunter.
One hunter may apply only for a one-day hunt on one area only. Duplicate names of applicants will be disqualified.
